Book Challenge Continued

In the 30 Day Book Challenge, I included a lot of Harry Potter stuff and for June I decided that I’ll participate in a 30 Day Harry Potter challenge starting tomorrow. I haven’t decided if I’ll post on this blog as well, but either way I’ll post the links up on here to my wordpress blog.

I think June might be a bit slow with Reading because of work. But I’m going to do my best to post some reviews of the books I’ll be reading.

Unfortunately I didn’t go to this location of Chapters and maybe it’s a good thing I didn’t because I probably would have refused to leave. I went to the local bookstore at the mall and that’s where my story begins.

I was browsing through the teen’s section as I waited for my brother to get back from Bestbuy (Technology= a boy’s best friend). As I was looking at the stacks of books, there was a young couple and their daughter standing close to me. The little girl was looking at the bookshelves and a smile immediately crept onto my face because she was looking at The Secrets Of The Immortal Nicholas Flamel series by Michael Scott. The books were too high for her to reach, so her dad reached up and got her a copy of The Magician (Book #2) in the series. What made me smile so much was her reaction when she held the book in her hands. Her eyes lit up and her smile was so wide. She also jumped up in happiness. The little girl’s mom was standing next to me and she was smiling at her excitement. I spoke to the couple and the little girl for about half an hour about books. I didn’t get a name and I wish I had. But it was so wonderful for me to see a child who loves reading just as much as I do. She was so enthusiastic about books and it was wonderful to know that her parents were encouraging in her reading habits. The little girl’s parents even joked that maybe I would be her English Professor at University someday. I highly doubt that, but I hope her love for reading won’t diminish as she grows older!

This is just a really small story, but to be honest it made me smile for the entire day because it made me believe that there were children still out there who would love reading just as much as I do!
